Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani also known as Valentino an Italian Fashion Designer and founder of Valentino Spa Brand and Company. He was born on the 11th of May year 1932.

His first choice for apprenticeship in Parish was Jacques Fath then Balenciaga and found apprenticeship with Jean Dresses. After five years he left Jean Desses. He return to Italy in 1959.

When Valentino left Paris and moved back to Italy he opened a Fashion House in Rome on the posh Via Condotti. He became popular for his Red Dresses known in the Fashion Industry as “Valentino Red”.

Florence the Italian Fashion Capital is the place of Valentino’s International Debut in 1962. After his breakthrough Florence Show he started to dress the ladies of the International Best-Dressed Crowd like Countess Jacqueline de Ribes, and NY Socialites Babe Paley and Jayne Wrightsman.

Valentino became the Undisputed Maestro of Italian Couture and he received the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award in 1967. Neiman Marcus Fashion Award is equivalent of an Oscar in field of fashion.

1969 Valentino moved from Florence to Rome and 2 years later he had his greatest triumphs, an all white collection which became famous on his “V” logo designed. His main lines were Valentino, Valentino Garavani, Valentino Roma, and R.E.D. Valentino.

Year 2006 Valention appeared in a cameo role in The Devils Wears Prada.

Year 1970 he spent considerable time in New York. Year 1989 he opened the Academia Valentino designed by Architect Tommaso Taylor. Year 1198 Valentino and Giancarlo Giammetti sold their company for $1.1 Billion. In 2002 the Valentino S.p.A. was sold to Morzotto Apparel in Milan for $210 Million. Valentino S.p.A. is a part of the Valentino Fashion Group, one of the world’s biggest fashion and luxury groups, owner the licensee for the MCS Marlboro Classics and M Missoni brands. Since 2006 Stefano Sassi is the Chairman and CEO of Valentino S.p.A. September 4, 2007 he announced that he would retire in January 2008 and October 4 was his last show in Paris for Women’s Ready-to Wear Fashion Show.
